Early SGs were …
Early SGs were badged Gibson Les Paul SGs and Derek has at least one of these so it’s an easy mistake to make. Les Paul supposedly didn’t like them and asked Gibson to take his name off but it took a couple of years for that to happen. More on wiki!

Not sure who put ” …
Not sure who put “In response to….etc…” but Duane’s not playing a Les Paul. That’s a Gibson SG that he bought off of Dickie Betts

Okay, you are from UK, thought from US. I am ready to join the ABB fan choir: come here Brothers ! And if they only come to Denmark I will let you know
August 26th, 2010 at 10:18 am
Well we’re all fans …
Well we’re all fans really… but check out some of the ABB performances with Jack Pearson or Jimmy Herring on board. Those guys play on a whole new level and have moved the instrument on substantially from where Duane (imho the best of his era) left off, Derek too. I’d love to see the ABB in the UK soon: maybe if we all ask loudly enough we’ll get a European tour!

They all owe a debt …
They all owe a debt to Charlie Christian and T Bone Walker….

Hey Mister …
Hey Mister jackcame2. I respect your comment and opinion, but I still find the attitude from the, for me, new ABB guitarists different. Good, but not the soul and feeling. Heard this version of Loan me a dime again, and got the same feeling. But, offcause, I am great fan of Duane and its possible my ears are coloured… Move on with the blues of the south and lets have ABB in Denmark soon.
August 26th, 2010 at 10:18 am
Derek is only doing …
Derek is only doing what Duane would have done if he hadn’t died so tragically young. The idea that Duane, Hendrix etc can’t be bettered is plain unfair to today’s greats (some of whom have done time with the ABB). Everybody has to reference it back to someone (even Duane). And neither Trucks nor Haynes are speed merchants anyway! Derek imho is the best at getting the Duane feel while never sounding like a tribute guitarist. Move on Niel and give respect where it’s due.

Dont get that buzy …
Dont get that buzy on guitar Haynes and Trucks…. The reason Duane lifted the music higher than anyone is the feeling, not the speed ! Duane Forever !

It sure does bring …
It sure does bring back memories…. what a great jam this tune is, and especially the original with Duane!
It must be hard for Gregg so sit there and hear this, it sounds so close to when Boz did it with his brother, I’m not even related to him (altho I did see them back in the day) and this brings tears to my eyes. RIP Duane…..
August 26th, 2010 at 10:18 am
Derek Trucks is …
Derek Trucks is amazing.Duane would be proud.
August 26th, 2010 at 10:18 am
Boz is definitely …
Boz is definitely one of the masters, but
why is his work so unnoticed. You never
hear this on any radio station, including the so called giants of classic rock. They
are all at the top of their game on this one.
