I purchased my home in 2004. At that time, a $26,000 home equity line of credit was established through GMAC. In October of 2009, GMAC sold my HELOC to Specialized Loan Servicing.

Ever since, it has been a nightmare.

Can’t keep track of my payments, no idea where my money is being applied, bogus annual maintenance fees (that were not in the original GMAC note), impossible to read statements – I’m just beside myself. On top of all that, it is obvious SLS is geared towards collecting BAD debts. Almost every call I make to them, or piece of mail I receive is set up as if it’s for someone that is 3 months behind. I pay almost double my monthly payment for pete-sakes!!!

I want to get AWAY from this company…. can anyone suggest a lender, company, bank, solution so that I can run from these half-wits??? I don’t deserve to be treated like this, and neither does anyone else that have been upholding their end of the Loan requirements.

Why not call around to a few banks where you live. If your credit stinks forget about it and pay quadruple the payments and get rid of it.

What Loan company will take over my federal student Loans when the loans are in forbearance so I can go back to school?
My loans are government loans from Saillie Mae. I owe them under $5000.
I heard about this company that will take over your school loans from them but I don’t know the name of the company.

No one will "take over" your loans. You will still owe the money to your lender when you are in forbearance. They will simply add interest every month while you are making payments.

If you are asking about defaulting the lender will just contract out with a collection agency to start calling and hounding you to mail them payments. If you make 6 to 12 months worth of willing and reasonable payments you can ask your lender to "rehabilitate" your loan. This is when you are issued a new loan and pay off the one in default so you can get federal fin aid again. Again, rehabilitation can only be done after you have made 6 to 12 months of payments.

Getting ready to buy a house and just curious what people find comfortable. What is your mortgage payment (including taxes and insurance), and your household income, and are you comfortable with your mortgage?

To keep from getting in over your head and being financially stressed, your monthly total Mortgage payment (PITI) should not exceed 25% of your take-home pay.

Lenders will tell you 30% or more, but that school of thought leads to families struggling with the reality of home ownership and all the other expenses.

Being a home owner is expensive: regular maintenance (air filters, cleaning products, light bulbs, etc.), major repairs like heat & air, roofs, window replacement, painting), yard upkeep, appliance repair and replacement, plumbing emergencies, garage door repair, furnishings and replacing old furniture from time to time, insect and termite control, fence replacement, and the list goes on and on.
